Activities we have enjoyed.
We tried wet felting for the first time.
The children had previously decided we needed a habitat for our new dinosaurs.
All the children got involved and enjoyed choosing the wool colours. We talked about the textures and the smell and sorted it into colour piles.
We then built up the design we wanted and added the soap and water. Due to time constraints we cheated a little and popped it into the dryer to felt. They were over the moon with the end result and its already seen hours of play.

We enjoyed the RSPB big garden birdwatch. The children really enjoyed themselves.
A couple of weeks ago we went to the local pet shop. The children purchased a hanging bird feeder and also one that suctions to the window. We also purchased bird food. Once we were back home we filled them and hung them up. The birds have used them with more frequency over time so we were able to identify a few varieties during the big garden birdwatch. Here is a list of some of the birds spotted in our garden.

Recently we used a new recipe for playdough. It was not the best we have made, but five little pairs of hands probably did not help. It was useful that it did not require cooking. And they all enjoyed playing with the end result.

MAKES 1 COLOURED BALL
You will need
2. Pour the coloured water into the flour mix and bring together with a spoon. 3. Dust a work surface with a little flour and turn out the dough. Knead together for a few minutes to form a smooth, pliable dough. If you want a more intense colour you can work in a few extra drops of food colouring. 4. Store in a plastic sandwich bag (squeeze out the air) in the fridge to keep it fresh. |
